More than half a century after its release, the 1966 round 50 cent coin remains one of Australia's most recognisable coins. This authentic example is suspended from a rose gold-filled curb chain.
Struck in 80% silver and issued for one year only, the original round 50 cent piece was withdrawn when rising silver prices made continued production uneconomical, making it the only round 50 cent coin ever minted in Australia.
Designed for versatility, the necklace can be worn at two lengths - 45cm when doubled, or 90cm when worn open.
